Here is a quick recap of what's happened so far.
September 29 - Told our families the good news. It was a great birthday present to my sister Erika who just had a baby (my adorable nephew Evan) 3 weeks prior.
October 1 - First doctor appointment. The doctor wasn't able to find a heart beat so we had our first sonogram. It was really cool. We were able to hear the heartbeat and see the baby which looked more like a bean than a person. The baby was about 2 inches long. Also, this was Jared's and my second wedding anniversary which made the day even more special.
December 5 - The long-awaited sonogram. The baby was sitting cross-legged making it difficult to determine gender. In the meantime, the technician checked out the rest of the anatomy and everything looked healthy. We got to see arms, legs, knees, a hand with 5 fingers, a foot and toes, the heart, even the nose and lips. Finally we got a good shot, and....we're having a girl! She was so little, weighing about 10 ounzes, but looking at her on the monitor was amazing because she looked like real baby this time.
December 6 - Jared and I picked a name. We had Mason picked out for a boy, but we hadn't chosen a name for a girl. We decided on Avery Grace. Neither of us know anyone named Avery - it's just a name we both liked.
December 11 - I felt her move for the first time. I wasn't even sure it was the baby at first!
December 14 - Jared felt her move. He really enjoys feeling her kick and move around, but she is not very cooperative for him when he tries.
