The Latest and Greatest

These days Avery loves going outside. She just looks around and takes everything in. She also really loves her Rainforest jumper, cold teething rings, and books. She is trying to master grabbing her pacifier and getting it in her mouth. It often goes in backwards but she's getting better. And when there is no pacifier, the big toe works just as well. She's really good at getting her foot all the way to her mouth.

Although she's not very good at it yet, Avery started rolling over from her tummy to her back. She really surprised herself the first time she did it, and I'm pretty sure it was a total accident. Oh well, still counts in the stats book (her baby book).

Avery still finds her father hilarious. Sometimes just seeing him causes her to get the giggles. This happened earlier today when Avery was fighting off a nap, as usual. She had been fussy for some time and was whining in her crib when Jared went to check on her. She saw him and immediately started laughing.

Currently I'm facing one of the toughest decisions I've had to make since becoming a mom. What is Avery going to be for Halloween? Stay tuned!

First of all, this is my new favorite picture. Have you seen anything cuter? Second, anyone think Avery looks like her dad?

We had a fun-filled weekend. On Friday Avery figured out how to get her toes in her mouth. She'd been working on that for awhile. On Saturday we watched Aunt Sarah play volleyball, and then Avery hung out with Grandma JoAnn while Mom and Dad went to the KU game. On Sunday, we all went to Evan's 1st birthday party. Yep, he is a year old already.

Avery does not have teeth yet but she's gnawing on anything she can get her hands on and likes her cold teething ring. She's become very grabby trying to get anything within her reach - necklaces, faces, cell phones, cups, even groceries on the shelf. Also, she's gearing up to start crawling. She constantly flips to her tummy and really kicks her legs - and now the knees are starting to tuck under. I better start babyproofing the house!
