A Lovely Day in February

It was beautiful out a few weekends ago, and Avery got to enjoy the nice weather with her cousins. We had a family outing in Shunga Park where I went countless times as a kid. Avery got to ride in Evan's wagon (her first wagon ride) and then got to swing at the park (her first time in a real swing).

Happy Valentine's Day

Avery hopes everyone has a happy Valentine's Day. We had a nice day at home, watching KU beat K-State and watching Avery pull herself up on every piece of furniture we own. She also constantly makes a beeline for the television because she's knows she's not supposed to and knows Jared will come pull her away which she finds hilarious. Tonight we had dinner with some friends and then went to the Wells' house. Avery got to see her friends Kate, Kara, Jadyn and Jace.

9 Months Old

Avery is three quarters of a year old! And all over the place! One day about two weeks ago she suddenly figured out how to crawl on her knees. After a few days the army crawling was no more. What this means is she is much faster and manages to get into everything, at least everything ground level.

Her nine month check up was a few days ago. Her new stats are 20 pounds (75%), 29 inches (90%) and head circumference17 3/4 inches (80%). Pretty much the same percentiles as she was 3 months ago. The check up went well until Avery let out her terrible cough. Her doctor listened to her breathing and heard wheezing. Next another ear infection. Bad news! However no one told Avery she was sick and she was still in high spirits. She's on a new antibiotic for the infection and has an inhaler with a tiny mask for the breathing. It takes both Jared and me to hold her down for the inhaler. No fun at all!

Avery is now allowed to have table food. She only has a few restrictions - milk, honey, peanut butter and egg whites - but we'll ease into it all. So far she tends to gag on chunks of food so it is still mainly puree for now.
